Sounds daft, but every year my friend talks about buying some ‘back to school’ shoes for herself.  She works in education too and I think it’s that subconscious idea of getting prepared to go back to work after the holiday.  I realise that I’m guilty of this way of thinking too and over the years I’ve purchase several ‘back to school’ shoes.

This year I’ve gone for loafers.  They seem to be everywhere I look in the shops at the minute, so I got a great black leather pair in TK Maxx.

The one overriding attribute in all of the ‘back to school’ shoes that I’ve bought in previous years is that they are black and leather.  It hearkens back to those days when Mum really did take me to get sensible, black leather shoes for school.  However, these days they’re sometimes not so sensible!!

Here are a few from previous years that are still going strong!

Does anyone else get themselves a new pair of ‘back to school’ shoes for going back to work after the summer holidays?
