I’m not going to lie to you. There are many (MANY!) nights where I cannot be bothered with the whole ‘cleanse, tone, moisturise’ mantra. I might have had a long day if I’ve been in London or stuff’s going on at home etc. I really just want to crawl into bed, read my book and conk out! However, I always take my make up off (mainly as I can’t stand the thought of it transferring to my pillowcases!). I do use special eye-make up remover wipes (although I know a lot of ladies would be horrified at that!), but then I also afterwards use Clarins Cleansing Milk with Gentian, which I massage in and then remove with a hot, damp face cloth. I then pat my skin dry and apply a few drops of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum which I massage into the skin. A little really goes a long way. I then mix a few drops of Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil with Clarins Multi Active Night Youth Recovery Cream and massage into my skin. I’m not sure whether it’s really ‘recovering’ my youthful skin, but it feels and smells nice and my skin feels soft and hydrated afterwards so it’s worth the perseverance I guess! I then use an eye cream from Clarins (I think mine has been discontinued and replaced by Clarins Extra Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream) which I pat gently under my eye using my ring finger.
Finally, I always (ALWAYS) use Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream before I go to sleep, even if I don’t use it at any other time during the day. I have a supersize tube by my bed and have other tubes of the same hand cream in my study, my handbag etc. I also sometimes massage Nailtiques Nail Moisturiser into my nails – especially after I’ve had Biogel manicures removed. My nails look great with the gel manicures but I like to give them a break and they do tend to split and break after this, so it’s important for me to keep them filed and moisturised (when I remember!).
